What exactly is genie?
A gifting app for Nigeria. You create an occasion — birthday, wedding, baby shower, anything — fill a wishlist with real products from genie merchants, and share one link. Friends open it and send you the gifts, delivered to your door.
How do anonymous gifts work?
A friend can send a gift without their name on it. You’ll see that a secret gift is on the way, but not who it’s from — until it physically arrives, when genie reveals the sender and their message.
Do my friends need the app to gift me?
No. They can open your wishlist link in any browser, pick something, and pay by bank transfer as a guest. The app just makes it faster and unlocks anonymous gifts and your own wishlist.
What if the item I want isn’t on genie?
Use the concierge. Paste a link to the item from any shop and our concierge team reviews it, prices it and sources it for you. It shows up on your wishlist as “sourcing” until it’s ready to be gifted.
How are payments handled?
Everything is in Naira. Gifts are paid by bank transfer or from your genie wallet. Merchants are settled to their bank account automatically after each delivery.
What does genie cost?
Creating events and wishlists is free. Gifters pay a small service fee (currently 1.5%) plus a flat delivery fee of ₦1,500 when an item is delivered; merchants pay a 5% commission on each sale. Fees are always shown before anyone pays.

When can I download it?
